I seem to have been waiting ages for this third installment in the Janusz Kiszka and Natalie Kershaw series. It was well worth the wait. This novel is as convoluted and as well plotted as in previous books. lt is a blend of police procedural and thriller with a deft touch of humor at times.What I enjoy most about this series is the character development and the story arcs. I like the bond/relationship that Kiszka and Natalie Kershaw has developed. They are friends and sometimes colleagues, but there are deeper feelings/ understanding developing. It's not rushed. Each character is a compliment to the other.
The plots are never simple in these novels, they have depth, nothing is straightforward or quite how it first appears. This could be read as a standalone, there is enough back story supplied to the previous books.
I'm a bit biased when it comes to this series, but I do think that they are well worth the time investing in them.

Kiszka and Kershaw make a great team. I love the glimpse into Polish culture and the fast paced action of the books. There are plenty of plot twists to keep ones interest as well as fully developed characters with interesting layers.
This is a really engrossing series that I devour whenever there's a new book out. I love the characters of Kiszka and Kershaw, and for me as an American the milieu of the East London cops is as exotic as that of the Polish emigres. Highly recommended!
Another excellent installment of the KiszKershaw mysteries. There is more development of the two main characters and their interactions are becoming increasingly interesting. The story is suspenseful and well written. Hoping Lipska will write more!
I have no particular interest in Things Polish, but thoroughly enjoyed this series set in London. Fine writing and excellent characterization. I look forward to others...
Love this series with Natalie Kershaw doing police investigation and the Polish Kicska paralleling her but withholding his motives and his findings from her. They finally do have to share enough to solve the kidnapping of Kicska's ready to move-in girlfriend, Kasia. Non-stop action and harrowing encounters with despicable villains keep this third installment of the series as page-turning as the other two. Can't wait for the next one!!
